Ali began designing jewelry for herself out of necessity (why were all the beautifully designed pieces so expensive?) and quickly realized other women were looking for exactly the same thing -- unique jewelry that brings a modern flair to classic looks. From the beginning, Ali has focused on combining semi-precious stones, pearls, crystal, and chain to create singular, off-center looks that bring a fashion-forward statement to a favorite pair of jeans or your best little black dress. Inspired by the depth of color and wealth of texture found in natural stones, Ali is continually pushing the color envelope to build combinations that complement current fashions and enhance the most classic pieces. No two ali & bird pieces are ever the same and all materials are real, unique, and sometimes quite rare.

Ali's daughter, Lindsey, affectionately nicknamed 'Bird,' is the design inspiration behind many of the pieces in the line. As is Ali's late mother Betty, an aspiring artist who raised Ali to appreciate all the beautiful and peculiar things of her Southern heritage. The line is a true inter-generational collaboration. Genuine ali & bird jewelry features the sterling silver kissing birds, symbolizing the collaboration and creativity that goes into every handmade jewelry design.
