Someone once gave me a card, in it was a folded up piece of paper with the words from famous author Jack Kerouac. He states, “The only people for me are the mad ones, the ones who are mad to live, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at the same time... Mad to live.” That describes who I am. I took the quote to heart, even got it tattooed on my foot so that everyday I would remember to live life to the fullest.
A cliff notes version of my life goes something like this; I went to art school, spent some time studying at the Beau Artes in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Loved the simple lifestyle as an artist. Graduated college and needed a job to pay off student loans, so I took the safe road. Got married, had two beautiful daughters. I worked in advertising, started my own agency with a partner- did this for 23 years.
I traveled the world, yearning for the simple artist lifestyle again. COVID hit. Lost people I loved. I closed the agency and never looked back.
I fell in love with ceramics. I’m taking a new road.
