The piece is turned edge grain which separates the new wood from the old leaving two distinct circles. You are drawn towards the center and dark place as you follow the circular grain pattern that draw you to look for the hidden "treasure". It is finished with wipe on varnish, buffed, and waxed. Only dry items can be placed in this bowl. It can be refreshed with quality furniture polish as needed.
